Mea Culpa?

Yeah, right.

The gay rights caucus of the Soros Sock Puppet Astroturf Association is outraged!-that yours truly has not issued a prompt retraction regarding the conclusion of the police investigation of former Saint Paul School Board member Al Oertwig’s pornography viewing habits at the public library.

That’s because I’ve got nothing to retract.

I didn’t write a single, solitary untruth about Al. I reiterated the sordid history of a guy that I, for the life of me, can not believe ever had access to and influence over children, and every word that is not clearly my opinion is based upon a proven fact.

Al is not someone I'd let within a mile of my kids (that'd be an opinion). He's been implicated in no fewer than three creepy incidents involving his "extra-curricular activities" during his tenure (a fact..see how that works?).

Each time he gets caught "with his pants down" he plays the poor, downtrodden gay guy..."shucks, I'm just doin' the best I can out here for the kids and all of these hateful homophobes just won't leave me alone".

Excuse me while I evacuate the contents of my stomach.

So he has been cleared of viewing child pornography….

“A folder linked to Oertwig's library identification number did contain images of "adult erotica" and "pornography," the police report said. But, because the images were not illegal, the case against Oertwig is closed, police spokesman Tom Walsh said Tuesday.”

Woo fucking hoo.

It is still pretty clear that he *was* viewing pornography depicting men who looked young enough to be children. Illegal? Unfortunately not. Creepy?...through the roof, redlined, needle pegging creepy.

And I have not even gotten to what a disaster his tenure on the board has been to the supposed academic mission of Saint Paul public schools.

Al's life is a self perpetuating smear campaign, he's his own worst enemy. Hopefully, he'll get some help somewhere.

That's all the retraction he's likely to get from me.
